The Best Drink in Milwaukee

While I did quaff some tasty beer in Milwaukee (the unexpectedly spicy bite of Lakefront IPA comes immediately to mind), the best drink I had in Milwaukee was not a beer at all: it was a Sloe Gin Fizz at the Comet Cafe. If you’re ever in Milwaukee, the slow food Comet Cafe is the perfect place to dine with your vegan friends (you all know how tough it is to find a restaurant that both omnivores and vegans can love), and whatever fare you choose, whether meaty or laden with hydrolyzed soy protein, you should sip a tangy, effervescent sloe gin fizz while you wait. I had a late breakfast of meatloaf and poached eggs smothered in sausage gravy. I know that sounds weird, but it was a surprisingly compatible and delicious assemblage.
